When it’s time for the sunflowers to ripen, tits appear on my plot. They can’t stop until they’ve stripped him of all his seeds. This happens almost until the frost itself. I dedicate most of my sunflowers to them. The bravest are marsh tits (Poecile palustris). Blue tits (Cyanistes caeruleus) and great tits (Parus major), which are much more cautious. Other birds like it too. Sparrows attack sunflowers in flocks. Greenfinches come in large flocks less often. The most interesting is the nuthatch, for which sunflowers are a delicacy and is aggressive enough to scare away other guests. It is best to take photos when there are few seeds.
